Alexander Buriticá
PhD Economist · Postdoctoral Researcher
Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT.
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. My research focuses on development economics, applied econometrics, and the use of causal inference methods to address agricultural and environmental policy challenges in Latin America.
My work applies impact evaluation methods to questions at the intersection of sustainable agriculture, deforestation, and rural livelihoods. Representative examples include evaluating the effects of silvopastoral systems on deforestation in the Colombian Amazon, assessing coffee quality signaling mechanisms on smallholder prices, and studying food security determinants in Amazonian communities.
