Alexander Buriticá
PhD Economist · Postdoctoral Researcher
Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT.
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. My research focuses on development economics, applied econometrics, and the use of causal inference methods to address agricultural and environmental policy challenges.
My work applies impact evaluation methods to questions at the intersection of sustainable agriculture, deforestation, and rural livelihoods. Recent projects include the evaluation of silvopastoral systems on deforestation in the Colombian Amazon, the analysis of coffee quality signaling mechanisms on smallholder prices, and the study of food security determinants in Amazonian communities.
