With Carolina González, Sharing Notes: How Sensory Evaluation Can Reshape the Relationship Between Farmers and Buyers, 25, Issue 26, pp. 46–53. Drawing on our evaluation of the Borderlands Coffee Project in Nariño (2012–2016), technical and commercial training raised farmgate prices by about 25%, and training plus cupping information by about 41%, with gains concentrated on farms at or above ~1,750 m. Cupping reveals quality; it does not create it.
